Episkopi
Episkopi is located 14 km west of Limassol and most of it belongs to the British Akrotiri-Episkopi bases. It is located on the west bank of the Kouri river and at the foot of the ancient city of Kourion.
During antiquity, the Diocese was connected to the city of Kourion, while in the centuries after Christ it was the seat of bishops. An important archaeological site is the ancient theatre of Kourion, which according to the legend of Herodotus was founded by Achaeans who came from Argos in the Peloponnese, while a little outside is the Sanctuary of Apollo Hylatis. In the center of the community is the Archaeological Museum of Kourion, which houses exhibits from the area.
Episkopi has one of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus, awarded with the blue flag, suitable for windsurfing and kite surfing.
